The 2nd Great Cambridge fox hunt, Will be held on Sunday the 18th of May 2008
Starting at 0930 and culminating at 1230
The Rules are as the 1st attempt but repeated below just in case anyone missed them:
All hunters should start from the same point,
I propose Sainsbury car park just off the roundabout of Coldhams
lane/Barnwell road, grid ref 52.20032N by 0.15791E. Post code CB1 3HP
(same as 1st hunt), Belinda M3VSF will be at the Start point to register all the hunters before the 0930 start,
Talk in:
This was something I had not thought necessary until now,
But as there may be several People taking part in the hunt there will be a talk in station, on the fox frequency of 145.25nfm if needed (T/I will be operated from the start point not by the fox) and will cease at 0930 when the fox transmissions start
The fox will be within a 10 mile radius of the start point, in
a fixed location i.e. not moving, and be in easy reach by public
highway/right of way,
The fox will transmit MCW of CQ CQ THIS IS THE FOX CATCH ME IF YOU CAN DE M3MVB, at 15 WPM which gives a transmit duration of 32 seconds
And is repeated every 2 minutes on 145.25MHz using NFM mode and 5Watts,
The fox may at his discretion increase or decrease the output power of the transmitter by +/- 3dB to cause confusion to the hunters,
The transmission shall begin at 0930UTC on the 18th of May 2008 and
cease at 1230UTC on the same day at which time the fox will give his
location by description and by grid ref,
The hunters that have found the fox before the 1230 close should not give the location to any other hunter,
If all hunters find the fox before the 1230 close of the hunt the event shall end when the last hunter find's the fox,
As this is only the 2nd event I've arranged and indeed we've had in the area, There are no prizes on offer this time,
Except the accolade of being one of the first to DF the fox and find his lair, and having some fun,
Although I may buy the first 3 hunters a beer!!!, at a nearby pub (no its not a clue)
